Masktown processes your personal data to provide Discover, Town, Drops, profile, and messaging features. This policy explains how we collect, use, share, and protect your personal data.
What data do we collect?
We may process your account information (such as your email address, username, age/date of birth, and sign-in information), profile photos and other information you share, Drops, messages, selected city, and, with your permission, location information. We may also process your IP address, device and app information, usage and error logs, reports, and purchase or subscription status. Masktown does not receive your full payment card details for purchases made through Google Play.
If you use profile verification, we may process a selfie or video and the verification result. If facial data is used through technical means to uniquely verify a person, it may constitute biometric data. Additional information will be provided on the verification screen, and the necessary legal requirements will be met.
Why do we process your data?
We use your data to create and manage your account, provide the service, display city content, deliver messages, provide purchased features, maintain safety and moderation, fix errors, and meet legal obligations. Depending on the processing activity, we rely on performance of a contract, legal obligations, protection of legal rights, or legitimate interests. Where required, we ask for separate and explicit consent for location, non-essential tracking, marketing, and sensitive data. You may withdraw your consent at any time. This does not affect processing carried out before your withdrawal.
The locations of profile icons and Drops shown in Town do not represent users' real-time or actual locations. In masked messaging, your profile is not shown to the other person until the mask is removed.
Who do we share data with?
Profile and Drops content you choose to share may be visible to other users. We use the following third-party services to provide Masktown:
- Google Play Services: To support the app on Android devices, sign-in, and related Google services.
- Google Analytics for Firebase: To understand how the app is used and improve it.
- Firebase Crashlytics: To identify and fix errors and crashes.
- Mapbox: To provide map and city features.
- RevenueCat: To manage Premium subscriptions and in-app purchase entitlements.
These services may process necessary information such as device information, IP address, app usage data, error logs, map interactions, and purchase status under their own privacy policies. Masktown does not receive your full payment card details. You can review the providers' privacy policies here: Google Play Services, Google Analytics for Firebase, Firebase Crashlytics, Mapbox, and RevenueCat.
We may share information with authorized public authorities when legally required. Some service providers may process data outside your country. Where this occurs, we apply the necessary contractual, technical, and administrative safeguards and obtain your prior explicit consent when required.
Retention, deletion, and your rights
We retain data for as long as necessary to provide the service and, afterward, only as required for legal retention, safety, or dispute resolution. At the end of the relevant period, we delete or anonymize it. Verification images and technical records are retained only for as long as necessary for verification, safety, and legal obligations. Uninstalling the app does not automatically delete your account or cancel your subscription.
You may request access to your data, correction of inaccurate information, deletion where applicable, object to certain processing, and exercise other applicable data protection rights. You may submit a request to novagrowapps@gmail.com. You can delete your account in the app by going to Profile > Settings > Delete Account. After verifying your identity, we will respond within the period required by law. Some records may need to be retained for a longer period where legally required.
Permissions, age requirements, and security
You can manage location, camera, photo, and notification permissions through your device settings. The app and website may use SDKs, cookies, and similar technologies for functionality, analytics, and error tracking. Where required by law, we obtain permission before using non-essential tracking technologies. We obtain any separate consent required for marketing communications.
Masktown is intended only for people 18 years of age or older. We use appropriate technical and administrative measures to protect data and comply with legal notification requirements in the event of a personal data breach. If we update this policy, we will publish the new effective date and notify you of material changes through appropriate channels.
